Sanctuary AI is founded by Geordie Rose, co-founder of quantum computing company D-Wave, and pursues one of the most ambitious cognitive architectures in humanoid robotics through its Carbon AI system. Carbon is designed to reason about the physical world using a generative model of task semantics rather than relying solely on learned sensorimotor policies. The company's Canadian Tire retail deployment represents one of the few unscripted, real-world humanoid service deployments outside of a controlled factory environment.
